Thanks Chris . One needs a very thick skin however not to be discouraged . iv e sold my work to and dealt with some unsavoury types and its always the same . people buy a name and want to know the residual value . i myself deal in military antiques as its so much easier to talk of prices . the lady was saying fine words at the forte (about if my soldier was 10000 it would still sell , she doesnt need to act on the reality of the situation where a small amount of marketed artists soak up vast profit and emasculate the rest . Figurative artists – particularly sculptors are up against what is perceived to be fashionable . Im drawing Bartolinis marble Campbell sisters here in Edinburgh , which is just heasvenly . so tender , but most walk straight past to stare at the boring painting of a waterfall !!

We met last night at the Forte. I’ve just been looking at your sculptures and drawings with my ten-year old son, and we think all your work is divine. The emotion of that rifleman tears at the heart, makes me want to weep. I love it too that you make reference to classical beauty. As the song goes, “If I had a million dollars …”!

In every work of Robert I really think that to write any comment we mainly ask before to our heart because all of his marvellous living scupltures have a deep story expressed. I used, maybe uncorrectly, the meaning “living sculptures” due every single work lives into my soul after watching it. It seems really to see a soldier marching on the snow or a dancer drawning the air with her movements….
In few words…Rob, your works are simply great!

Thanks very much Adaliza . I really want to get back out to St Petersburg and finish the piece of Lopatkina . Im finding it better going direct than relying on galleries at this time . also i get rid of the mark up ! Theres open studios at the Yard this wkd in Winchester . Thats where i have a workspace and you can see more . i cant be there though .

Sorry for delay in replying ! Some of my dancer pieces are not on my site . Can you desribe the one you mean please ? I had Giselle ,Paquita and a coryphee from Swan Lake down at the fair.

I Saw your work today at the Winchester art fair and loved it, especially the dancers.
I wondered how much one of the ballerina sculptures (on display at the fair) would cost please. Thank you.
